to the provider of IoT solutions.
The best of start-up and
blukii was founded in 2010 from the company Schneider Schreibgeräte GmbH and its then owner and managing director Roland Schneider.
Roland Schneider had an affinity for electronics and so an electronic key based on the Bluetooth Low Energy standard, which was completely new at the time, became the first business idea. This first business idea was also the cornerstone for the blukii brand. The name blukii is an artificial word derived from Bluetooth Key.
With the market launch of version 4.2 of the Bluetooth Low Energy standard, we were able to add smart beacons to our portfolio. The blukii portfolio now includes a large number of different beacon models that are suitable for almost every application. A broad portfolio of high-quality beacons could be built up by using existing expertise in injection molding and efficient further development in software and electronics.
hard&softWERK GmbH has completely taken over the blukii product family from the traditional Schneider brand since 2023 and develops, produces and sells it independently. The blukii product portfolio fits perfectly into the field of digitalization, which is the basic business of hard&softWERK GmbH.
The company’s largest investor is still the Schneider family of Schneider Schreibgeräte GmbH. Schneider Schreibgeräte GmbH is a medium-sized company and market leader for ballpoint pens in Germany.
